Those conditions change. A budget optimized for aggressive debt repayment may become unrealistic after childcare costs begin. An investment strategy designed around a 30-year horizon may need adjustment when the money is required sooner. A rewards card that once matched your spending may become less valuable after its fee increases.

This is the central trade-off of financial over-optimization. The most technically efficient arrangement is not always the easiest, safest, or most durable one.
